From Winamp to Sword-X
How a long-standing love of local music players became the starting point for learning software development—and eventually building a player of my own.
Local music players have been part of my life since the Winamp era. I admired how a focused desktop application could turn a personal music collection into a space that felt entirely your own.
That admiration became one of the reasons I started learning software development. The idea was simple: perhaps one day I could build the kind of music tool I genuinely wanted to use.

Years later, Sword-X brings that path full circle. It combines Hi-Fi playback, large local libraries, detailed metadata tools, and a deeply programmable skin system in one native Windows application.
The project will keep evolving, but its starting point remains unchanged: respect for local music, carefully made desktop software, and the freedom to shape a player around the listener.
